Youth tax relief: PIT for delivery workers under 26

Relief covers specified income received before your 26th birthday, up to PLN 85,528 annually. It does not exempt every type of income. Business income is not covered.

Age does not settle everything

Youth tax relief covers specified income before age 26 and has an annual limit. It is separate from social contribution rules. It is therefore wrong to promise that every young courier always receives all revenue without deductions. Check the official tax guidance and provide the information needed to establish the correct settlement treatment before starting work.

Students: confirm current status

If you declare student status, prepare evidence and ask when it needs updating. Report graduation, interruptions and changes. A document supplied once should not be assumed sufficient indefinitely. Separately disclose other contracts and employment so that the person handling settlement does not have to guess whether previous information remains current. The preview’s student checkbox demonstrates the interface only and grants no exemption.

Look across income sources

When working with several organisations, keep income information from each. List payers and working periods to make missing annual documents or differences easier to identify. One app balance is not a complete annual tax picture. If uncertain, give the records to the person preparing the return and ask them to check the assumptions rather than relying on a single dashboard total.

Plan for a change in circumstances

Before turning 26, ask how subsequent payments will be treated. If this is your main income, budget for the changed circumstances too. Check document, payment and study-completion dates. Early notification makes later corrections caused by outdated data less likely. Final amounts depend on your real situation, not the illustrative calculator or another courier’s experience.
